Imagine navigating life unable to smile, or struggling to eat and speak without pain or discomfort. For children born with cleft lip and/or palate conditions, this is a daily reality.
However, one act of kindness can transform a child’s life forever: Donating a smile.
In honour of our 125th anniversary, we’ve teamed up with Miles for Smiles to fund 125 life-changing surgeries for children born with cleft conditions. As part of this plan, we’re hosting a special Trail Run on Sunday, 21st September 2025 at the historic Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
Every cent raised will go to Operation Smile South Africa, a non-profit organisation that provides free, life-changing corrective surgery to children with cleft conditions. A single surgery, which costs just R5 500, remarkably improves a child’s ability to speak, eat, and smile.
For many families, surgery is out of financial reach. Without timely intervention, children living with cleft conditions may experience developmental delays, long-term health issues, and bullying.
Giving the gift of a smile restores a child’s dignity and confidence, enabling them to eat safely, speak confidently, and attend school without fear of being ostracised.
