Developers, planners, architects and conveyancers each look at Surveyor General plans and diagrams with excitement, as these portray so much detail and hold the seed of potential development. But how can one access the plans with ease? There are three easy ways:
1. The excel autoemailer provided at http://csg.dla.gov.za/data.htm.
2. SG diagrams online at http://csg.dla.gov.za/esio/searchindex.htm. Here you can:

2. SG diagrams online at http://csg.dla.gov.za/esio/searchindex.htm. Here you can:
- Either search by property;
- By document number;
- Get the parent erf for a sectional title scheme (there are blocks on the back of diagrams with the SS endorsement); and
- Get the D number for the correct SS number.
