STBB Newsflash | Deeds Office Fee Increases

As anticipated, the Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thokozile Didiza, published an amendment to the Schedule of Fees of Office, as prescribed by the Regulations to the Deeds Registries Act 47 of 1937, under GN R4447 in GG 50239 dated 29th February 2024.

The amendments, which are scheduled to come into effect on 1st April 2024, include an increase of between 4.4% and 6.3% in the cost to register a transfer, and an approximate increase of 6.25% to register a bond. The issuance of a certified copy of a deed to replace a lost, destroyed, or misplaced title deed amounts to R586.00 per copy, a section 4(1)(b) application will set you back R159.00, and requests for copies of title deeds will now cost R97.00 per copy.
