Newsflash | The South Gauteng Deeds Registry: Johannesburg confirms December 2024 working arrangements

The South Gauteng Deeds Registry: Johannesburg has confirmed its December 2024 working arrangements in anticipation of its closure over the festive season.

According to the details of a notice issued by the Registrar of Deeds, please note the following dates for matters lodged at the South Gauteng Deeds Registry:

  • The Deeds Registry will close to clients and the public on Tuesday, 24th December 2024 at 10h00 and re-open on Thursday, 2nd January 2025.
  • The cut-off date for lodging deeds and documents for registration by Monday, 23rd December is Monday, 9th December 2024.
  • Any deeds and documents lodged after this date are not guaranteed to register in 2024.
  • No cut-off date for lodgements has been specified this year.
  • Any deeds and documents ‘on prep’ and not registered by Monday, 23rd December 2024 will not be rejected. Instead, automatic rejections will be temporarily suspended until Monday, 6th January 2025.
