The KwaZulu-Natal Deeds Registry: Pietermaritzburg has confirmed its December 2024 working arrangements in anticipation of the festive season.

According to the details of a notice issued by the Registrar of Deeds: KwaZulu-Natal, please note the following for matters lodged at the KwaZulu-Natal Deeds Registry:

  • The Deeds Registry has declined to set a deadline for the lodgement of deeds and documents intended for registration in 2024.
  • Conveyancers are directed to lodge all deeds and documents earmarked for registration before year-end as soon as practicably possible.
  • Any requests to fast-track deeds for registration in 2024 will not be considered.
  • Double execution of deeds will take place on Wednesday, 18th December 2024.
  • Normal operating hours will apply on Thursday, 19th December 2024, Friday, 20th December 2024, and Monday, 23rd December 2024.
  • The Deeds Registry has not specified the exact dates of its closure and re-opening and will communicate any further details, if necessary.
