Justice and Correctional services Minister, Mr Ronald Lamola, has ordered the closure of the all Master’s Offices in South Africa for one day, today 4 February, to facilitate the investigation under way by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) into alleged maladministration, fraud and corruption at these offices. The SIU will be conducting search and seizure operations, meaning that they will enter the offices and take control of any evidence that may prove corrupt activities.
All the Master’s offices will re-open on Wednesday. We trust that this will cause minimal delays on transactions awaiting consent or other feedback from the Master’s office, but will keep you updated should this not be the case.
