SUSAN LOURENS
Susan is a Senior Associate based at STBB Tyger Valley. She obtained her LLB from the University of Stellenbosch, where she graduated third in her class in 2006. In 2009, she was admitted as an Attorney, Notary Public, and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa and has been in practice ever since. After accumulating over 15 years of experience in practice, she joined STBB in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of expertise. Before joining STBB, Susan practised at reputable law firms in the Northern Suburbs, including as a Director at Kellerman Hendrikse Inc. Bellville, where she managed the Bonds, Notarial, and Transfers Departments, respectively.
While collaborating closely with other property law specialists to deliver top-tier legal services to her clients, Susan has emerged as an expert in various aspects of conveyancing. In this realm, she currently focuses on transfers, the registration of mortgage bonds, notarial services, facilitating developments, and the legal structuring of property transactions. Above all, Susan is passionate about assisting her clients in all areas of the law. Her hands-on approach, personal involvement in every process, commitment to honesty and integrity, and application of extensive knowledge with patience and empathy distinguish her from her peers.
As networking holds a prominent place on Susan’s priority list, she has been an active member of Business Networking International (BNI), a global networking organisation, since 2010. In 2013, she was named 'Networker of the Year' by BNI, and, in 2023, she received the ‘Legend Award’ from the same organisation. Outside of the office, Susan enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She delights in nature walks, fine dining experiences, and attending the theatre, and has a deep appreciation for music.
