Robyn obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of South Africa in 2019 with several distinctions. Before commencing articles in 2019 she attained extensive practical experience in business management as she started and managed various enterprises after leaving school. In 2014 Robyn started a recruitment agency for au pairs and nannies. Thereafter she established a training workshop for her candidates, to ensure there was a high professional standard amongst those placed through her agency. In 2015 she completed a labour law short course through Labour Guide South Africa to further her knowledge pertaining to the laws surrounding employment agencies and workers’ rights. It was this practical experience fueled by her determination to bring structure to chaotic situations which led her to pursue a career in law. Her passion for company law and family law, as well as the desire to have a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families, inspires her passion to practice as a legal professional. Her final year research report for which she obtained a distinction, was focused on the pertinence of alternative dispute resolution in family law, more specifically divorce matters and how this should be further advanced in practice. Robyn spent her first six months at STBB in the bond center, expanding her knowledge in property and is currently in the family law department in Cape Town. Robyn thrives on excellent customer service and providing individually suited solutions for families from all walks of life.

Blog | Maintenance applications

During the month of August, the STBB Family Law Department will assist parents in need with completing the following maintenance applications for a nominal fee:

– We assist with the preparation and completion of the necessary documents for an application to enforce an existing maintenance order, including a divorce order.

– In the event that someone is no longer able to afford their maintenance contributions, or that the maintenance that is received is insufficient, STBB can assist with the preparation and completion of all necessary documents in order to bring an application for the variation or discharge of an existing maintenance order.

– Parents who do not currently have an existing maintenance order in place, we will assist with the preparation and completion of the necessary documents to apply for the maintenance order in respect of dependent children.

Over and above the preparation of the necessary paperwork, STBB will provide clients with advice on which court the completed application must be submitted to, as well as an explanation of what to expect before, during, and after the matter will be heard in court.This service is available at a fixed fee, for the duration of August 2020.
