Business law update: Government publishes draft Regulations regulating MSME classification
Last month, government published draft Regulations delineating the criteria to determine the classification of micro, small, and medium enterprises for public comment. Pursuant to section 20(2) of the National Small Business Act, the notice distinguishes between industries, such as construction, mining, and transport, and relies on three classifying thresholds, namely size or class, total full-time equivalent of paid employees, and total annual turnover.
