Sedertdien is besighede dikwels herinner dat volle inwerkingtreding van POPI op hande is, maar daar word steeds op gewag. Die Inligtingsreguleerder het onlangs die President gevra om die aanvangsdatum van POPI as 1 April 2020 te verklaar (welke beteken dat die effektiewe spertyd vir nakoming 1 April 2021 sal wees weens die 12 maande speling wat die wet toelaat).<\/p>\n<p>As gevolg van die COVID-19-skrik en die finansi\u00eble impak van ESKOM en SAL se probleme, is kommentators egter nie oortuig dat 1 April die datum sal wees waarop die Wet in volle werking sal tree nie.<\/p>\n<p>Dit beteken egter nie dat nakoming uitgestel moet word nie.
