{"id":43843,"date":"2025-11-20T13:00:26","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T11:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/?p=43843"},"modified":"2025-11-20T14:09:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T12:09:13","slug":"the-south-gauteng-deeds-registry-johannesburg-confirms-december-2025-working-arrangements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/the-south-gauteng-deeds-registry-johannesburg-confirms-december-2025-working-arrangements\/","title":{"rendered":"The South Gauteng Deeds Registry: Johannesburg confirms December 2025 working arrangements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a concise <a href=\"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Newsflash_Deeds_Registry_Notice-Gauteng_20November2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>notice<\/u><\/a> issued by the Registrar of Deeds yesterday afternoon, the South Gauteng Deeds Registry: Johannesburg has confirmed its December 2025 working arrangements in anticipation of the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>With the core aim of ensuring our clients are informed and that all transactions are registered timeously, please take note of the following information and critical dates for matters lodged at the South Gauteng Deeds Registry, as outlined in the notice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Johannesburg Deeds Office will close to clients and the public on Wednesday, 24<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 and Wednesday, 31<sup>st<\/sup> December 2025 at 10h00.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure matters are finalised timeously, conveyancers are encouraged to lodge their deeds and documents by Tuesday, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> December 2025 for registration on or before Friday, 19<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Notably, no cut-off date for lodgements has been specified.<\/li>\n<li>An extension for any deeds and documents \u2018on prep\u2019, which are not registered by Tuesday, 23<sup>rd<\/sup> December 2025, will be permitted until Thursday, 8<sup>th<\/sup> January 2026. After this date, automatic rejections will apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although STBB\u2019s 13 offices close at midday on Wednesday, 24<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 and will reopen for business on Monday, 5<sup>th<\/sup> January 2026, we will endeavour to ensure that your transaction is registered on your selected date.
