{"id":43762,"date":"2025-11-12T14:50:56","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T12:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/?p=43762"},"modified":"2025-11-12T15:31:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T13:31:03","slug":"newsflash-the-western-cape-deeds-registry-announces-working-arrangements-ahead-of-the-festive-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/newsflash-the-western-cape-deeds-registry-announces-working-arrangements-ahead-of-the-festive-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Newsflash | The Western Cape Deeds Registry announces working arrangements ahead of the festive season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Newsflash_Deeds_Registry_Notice-Western-Cape_12November2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">official notice<\/span><\/a> received this morning, the Western Cape Deeds Registry: Cape Town has confirmed its December-January arrangements in anticipation of the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>With the intention of keeping our valued clients informed and to ensure that all transactions are registered timeously, please note the following dates for matters lodged at the Western Cape Deeds Registry:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any deeds and documents submitted on or before Wednesday,10<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 will be processed by no later than Friday, 19<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 for registration.<\/li>\n<li>Unfortunately, any deeds and documents lodged after Thursday, 11<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 are not guaranteed to register by Friday, 19<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Any deeds and documents \u2018on prep\u2019 from Monday, 15<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025 must be registered by Friday, 9<sup>th<\/sup> January 2026, with two hand-in slots from 15<sup>th<\/sup> to 22<sup>nd<\/sup> December 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Crucially, from Monday, 15<sup>th<\/sup> December 2025, any deeds and documents \u2018on prep\u2019 won\u2019t be automatically rejected within 5 days. Automatic rejections will be temporarily suspended until Friday, 9<sup>th<\/sup> January 2026 \u2013 with any affected deeds to be held over until Thursday, 8<sup>th<\/sup> January 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Importantly, the notice indicates that the Deeds Office will \u2013 unusually \u2013 remain fully operational from Monday, 29<sup>th<\/sup> December to Wednesday, 31<sup>st<\/sup> December 2025, as well as from Friday, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> January 2026, with limited staff.
