{"id":39587,"date":"2025-03-21T12:00:57","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T10:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/?p=39587"},"modified":"2025-11-08T10:13:58","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T08:13:58","slug":"blog-lodging-form-lll-what-you-should-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/blog-lodging-form-lll-what-you-should-know\/","title":{"rendered":"Blog | Lodging Form LLL: What you should know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following a recent amendment to the Deeds Registries Act (&#8216;the Act&#8217;), conveyancers in South Africa are now statutorily required to lodge a new form, otherwise known as Form LLL, for statistical and land audit purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The prescribed form is now contained under reg 18(4) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/stbb.co.za\/dev2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GN_No.5948_05March2025_No.52219.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>amended Regulations<\/u><\/a> to the Act, which are set to take effect next month.<\/p>\n<p>While we await a circular from the Office of the Chief Registrar outlining the specificities of Form LLL, our conveyancing attorneys have received the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The form is for the transferee\u2019s completion and signature.<\/li>\n<li>If there is no transferee, Form LLL must be completed and signed by the registered owner or holder (e.g. in the case of a CCT or CRT).<\/li>\n<li>An attorney, conveyancer, or notary public may sign the form on information supplied by the client, which is useful in cases where the client is travelling, resides overseas, or is in another city.<\/li>\n<li>Importantly, Form LLL contains questions regarding race and gender, which cannot be assumed.
