In a bid to encourage compliance with prevailing building regulations, the City of Tshwane has reminded property owners that newly-built houses or buildings qualify for free inspections, with municipal inspectors issuing occupancy certificates upon completion at no cost. If the building does not pass inspection, however, a re-inspection fee will apply but the occupancy certificate, which confirms that a building is structurally safe, may be obtained at no additional cost.<\/p>\n
