MATT PRETORIUS

Matt is a Candidate Attorney in the Litigation department at the STBB Cape Town branch. He completed his BA International Studies in 2019 and obtained his LLB degree in 2022 from the University of Stellenbosch. He was on the Dean's List for both degrees. During his final year as an undergraduate, he worked as an economics tutor at the university. Matt has also completed the Dale Carnegie Next Generation course which, with his experience as a tutor, has given him the necessary tools to effectively work with others and to achieve his goals. Matt aims to make use of the inestimable supply of knowledge and opportunities available at STBB to learn as much as possible about law and legal practice, and grow within the firm. Matt is ambitious, hardworking and a problem solver at heart and therefore enjoys helping others by finding innovative and efficient solutions to their problems. Matt is driven to constantly improve himself and overcome new obstacles. He is passionate about property law, litigation, tax and intellectual property and aims to use his legal knowledge to help improve and leave his footprint in these areas. Matt has a key interest in cryptocurrency and global economics and want to find a creative way to integrate this with his legal background. He enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, going to the beach and ultimately learning and trying new things.
